More Fun with the Weather

It’s hurricane season for the Atlantic basin. Just in case you didn’t know this.

As I write this Hurricane Gustav is battering the Gulf Coast of the USA. We’ve already dealt with Fay here in Florida. It came ashore in Florida 4 times. Not once, not twice, four times. Ok, it was only a tropical storm. I don’t think that matters much to the people along the coast, the St. Johns River and Lake Monroe that are still flooded out.

And lucky us,

it looks like later this week we will be feeling the edges of Hurricane Hanna. She’s already hanging out in the Atlantic. It looks like it might come ashore around Georgia or South Carolina. Overnight Ike formed. I think it’s a tropical storm already. And I just heard that by the end of the week we could be watching Josephine.

I know that hurricanes are a natural force and occurrence and they are beneficial, particularly for our reefs that are dieing out. However, I’m really tired of these things. It’s only August. We did this 4 years ago, we did this 3 years ago. Do we have to do this again?

Yeah, I know, whine, whine, whine. Yes, I would like some Fontina with that w(h)ine. 🙂

I’m sure there will be more on this subject. Hurricane season doesn’t end until the end of November. We’ve had them into October before so hold on tight.

Cheers
