Watching History

At the point John Edwards bowed out of the Democratic Primary race for the President of the United States of America this year’s Democratic Convention was guarenteed to be a history maker. Whether Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barak Obama was nominated as the Democratic Pary Presidential Candidate, we as a nation, were finally making some of the strides that so many other countries have already managed to make.

I happened to have the tv on this evening at the point when Charlie Gibson on World News Tonight came on with the Democratic Convention. They were in the roll call. They got to the point where Hillary Rodham Clinton made the motion to end the roll call and nominate Barak Obama as the Presidential Candidate for the Democratic party. After it aired the glint in Charlie Gibson’s eye made me think.

It made me think what an extrodinary job a news anchor or reporter has. To be on the frontline of witnessing history.
