About My Troll Rogue, Y…

So I’ve been playing my Troll Rogue on the first server I started playing on. She wasn’t my first toon there. I tried a couple of others and didn’t really do a lot with her. But lately I’ve been giving her considerable attention and have managed to get her close to 40 in the last few weeks.

I looked back over some of her achievements and found that I created her in early February of 2009 and then didn’t do much with her until November of last year when I did a few of the steps in a couple of the Harvest Festival achievements. I didn’t complete any of those. And then I didn’t really do much until July 2 of this year. This is when I really started working on her.

Ok, so I tried playing another Troll Rogue over on a different sever and decided that since this one, we’ll call her Y, was a bit farther along that maybe I should just work on her. So that’s what I have been doing.

Originally when I created Y I had taken the Enchanting profession. At some point I decided I didn’t really want to do that as I knew it meant she would be poor for disenchanting all the really sellable stuff. So she now is a Tailor and a Skinner. Yes, I know I should have gone Leatherworking with the Skinning except I already have a Leatherworker and, well, this way she has a cash crop so to speak. If I need stuff I just send the mats to the Leatherworker to make otherwise I just sell what I’m not using. I say it this way because I’ve found you need a little leather for those silk pouches.

I’m trying to keep her cooking and fishing up as I go. I’ve other toons that the cooking has been the hardest to level because I didn’t do it as I went along. I’ve not been very good keeping up her first aid though. It’s always something I suppose. It’s a challenge to really keep up all those skills. I’m working really hard on her lock picking right now. I’m just about at 150 and still can’t open those boxes off the shore of Ethel Rethor in Desolace. Very frustrating.

I’ve found that the darts that my blacksmith made for her are just not as effective as the throwing knife I found on an NPC vendor. So I sacrificed some gear score for better damage. I was doing a review of Y’s equipment and found that I really need to upgrade her tunic. It’s the lowest item, next to the throwing knife, that she has and it would help to have something with a bit more stat on it. Guess I need to get busy on that.

Oh, that means I need to do some dungeons. Yep, I haven’t been doing dungeons with Y. I’m a little afraid that I will be totally ineffective and get hammered on by the others in the group. Still I know I will get better gear in the dungeons and it’s good experience. I also have to admit to being just a little daunted at the amount of time some of the lower level dungeons can take. Holy Cow! Could Wailing Caverns be any longer? Ok don’t answer that. You know what I mean though. Really, when am I supposed to eat or sleep?

My current plans are to keep leveling Y. I’d like to at least get her to Outlands. Oh, I finally made it to Badlands. That took some work. I like being able to stealth through the tunnels in Dun Algaz. I didn’t run into the Mountaineers and die like I did when I tried it on my first toon.

The only problem with those plans is I have an Orc Warrior we’ll call P on that server and a DK we’ll call G on that server and I feel some what of a need to work on them as well. If I can get them into the guild Y is in then I may find myself somewhat distracted from leveling up Y. Then again, I’ve been pretty faithful to Y lately so who knows. I really like the lock picking and the pick pocketing. Just run up behind them, sap and then pick pocket. Ok, it’s the small things but I think it’s kind of cool.

And so that’s my Troll Rogue, Y so far. I’ll fill you in on P or G another time.

See Ya.
